Objectives

The primary objective of this contract is to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of jet valves and dredge valves onboard the dredger. This will be achieved through inspections, fault finding, repairs, servicing, and testing of the valves over a period of one year.

Scope of Work

The contractor shall provide skilled personnel, supervision, tools, and equipment to perform the following tasks:

• Check for leakage (internal and external), excessive wear and corrosion, mechanical damage, and misalignment.
• Identify root causes of valve failure or malfunction, slow or erratic operation, leakage, or pressure loss.
• Conduct diagnostic tests including pressure testing, stroke testing, and control signal verification.
• Replace or refurbish components such as seats, seals and O-rings, shafts and bearings, liners, and wear plates.
• Lubricate moving parts.
• Perform hydrostatic pressure testing and functional testing under operating conditions.
• Verify leak tightness, smooth operation, and correct response to control inputs.

Technical Requirements

The work must adhere to the following technical standards and practices:

• Align with best practices in energy management and asset management, specifically ISO 50001 (Energy Management Systems) and ISO 55001 (Asset Management Systems).
• Provide a comprehensive method statement upon request, detailing how the work will be executed.
• Develop and submit a project-specific Quality Control Plan, including sequence of activities, procedures, intervention points, and inspection checklists.
• Provide a risk assessment aligned with the scope of work upon request.
• Ensure all work complies with safety rules set by Dredging Services and relevant approved safety documentation prior to vessel/worksite attendance.

Skills and Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Provision of skilled personnel experienced in valve inspection, fault finding, and repairs.
• Ability to perform diagnostic testing, component refurbishment, and functional testing.
• Capability to prepare method statements, quality control plans, and risk assessments.
• Compliance with ISO standards related to energy and asset management.
• Adherence to safety protocols and documentation as required by Dredging Services.
• Responsiveness with a maximum response time of 6 hours from acknowledgment to site attendance.
• Provision of warranties: minimum six months for workmanship and manufacturer warranties for supplied materials where applicable.
