Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the maintenance, servicing, and inspection of fire equipment across Manguzi Hospital and associated clinics. This includes ensuring the functionality, safety, and compliance of fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, hose reels, and related fire-fighting equipment to meet safety standards and legal requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Servicing and maintenance of fire extinguishers (including powder, CO2, and other types) at the hospital and clinics.
• Inspection and servicing of fire hydrants and hose reels.
• Provision of fire blankets and related fire safety equipment.
• Checking for leaks, water pressure, valve functionality, and replacing or repairing components as needed.
• Labelling, painting, and ensuring compliance with fire safety standards.
• Providing narrative reports, certificates of compliance, and monthly service records for hospital and clinic buildings.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Complete servicing of all fire extinguishers, including pressure checks, refilling, and repainting with anti-rust paint.
• Inspection and servicing of fire hydrants, including leak checks, valve servicing, and water pressure assessment.
• Servicing of hose reels, including leak detection, painting, and valve checks.
• Provision and installation of fire safety accessories such as padlocks for hydrant containers.
• Provision of fire blankets (minimum of two per location).
• Inspection and certification of fire safety compliance for all buildings.
• Monthly record-keeping and reporting for all serviced equipment.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Qualified fire safety technicians with relevant certifications (e.g., SAQCC, SABS, FETA certificates).
• Experience in servicing and maintaining fire extinguishers, hydrants, and hose reels.
• Knowledge of fire safety standards and legal compliance requirements.
• Ability to produce detailed inspection reports and certificates of compliance.
• Capacity to perform on-site servicing at hospital and clinic premises without removing equipment.
• Good record-keeping and reporting skills for monthly maintenance files.
