Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a service for particle count testing in operating theatres at Murchison Hospital. The service aims to verify the cleanliness and performance of ventilation and air-conditioning systems in surgical environments, ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards and maintaining patient safety.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply, delivery, installation, and testing of particle count testing services in specified theatre areas.
• Testing of main operating theatres, minor procedure rooms, recovery rooms, sterile preparation areas, and scrub rooms.
• Use of calibrated testing equipment by qualified personnel.
• Inspection and replacement of filters (HEPA, secondary, pre-filters) as required.
• Recording environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, pressure differentials, and airflow conditions.
• Preparation and submission of comprehensive test reports, including calibration certificates and compliance assessments.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the service include:

• Use of calibrated airborne particle counters capable of measuring particles at sizes 0.3 ?m, 0.5 ?m, 1.0 ?m, and 5.0 ?m.
• Testing conducted in accordance with ISO 14644-1 standards, hospital infection control guidelines, and HVAC validation standards.
• Pre-test inspection to verify HVAC operation, filter integrity, and environmental conditions.
• Replacement of filters (HEPA, secondary, pre-filters) based on integrity tests, damage, or service life.
• Sampling at critical zones including theatre center, surgical field, supply diffusers, and other designated locations.
• Recording environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, differential pressure, airflow, and air change rates.
• Final report submission with particle count results, environmental data, compliance status, and recommendations.

Skills Requirements

The service provider must demonstrate:

• Training and competence in cleanroom and particle count testing procedures.
• Experience in healthcare HVAC validation and environmental monitoring.
• Knowledge of ISO 14644 standards and hospital infection prevention protocols.
• Use of calibrated, certified testing equipment with valid calibration certificates.
• Ability to prepare detailed reports, including technical findings and compliance assessments.
