Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure pest control services for various laboratories in Limpopo over a period of five years. The service provider is expected to deliver environmentally sound pest control solutions, including inspection, control, and treatment of vermin and pests, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment within the laboratories.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Selection of environmentally friendly pesticides, especially when chemical control is necessary.
• Inspection and control of vermin such as rats, mice, cockroaches, bedbugs, fleas, stinkbugs, ants, wasps, bees, mosquitoes, snakes, and lizards across multiple laboratory facilities.
• Use of pesticides with low volatility and odor to minimize impact on workers.
• Prohibition on disposing of excess pesticides or contaminated materials on-site.
• Application of chemicals within hazard analysis critical control points and good manufacturing practices, with MSDS documentation and treatment certificates valid for 6-12 months.
• Work may be required after hours and on weekends due to the 24-hour operation of laboratories.
• Inspection of all listed laboratories and execution of annual spray treatments for pests such as cockroaches, fleas, flies, and ants over five years.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of a structural pest control license and registration with the South African Pest Control Association.
• Use of pesticides approved for safety and environmental standards, with MSDS provided.
• Compliance with hazard analysis critical control points and good manufacturing practices.
• Work to be performed in accordance with the scope, including after-hours and weekend services as needed.
• Submission of relevant certification and documentation, including licenses and references for similar projects not older than three years.
• Adherence to safety, environmental, and health standards during application.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in pest control services, particularly in laboratory or healthcare environments.
• Relevant licenses and registration with recognized pest control authorities.
• Ability to select environmentally sound pesticides and apply them safely.
• Capacity to perform inspections, treatments, and follow-up services over a five-year period.
• Competence in handling hazardous chemicals and maintaining safety protocols.
• Provision of references for similar projects completed within the last three years.
• Qualified personnel with expertise in pest management and environmental safety.
