Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the maintenance and servicing of water booster pumps located in the basement plant rooms of the Natalia Building, specifically for the North and South Towers. The aim is to ensure the pumps operate efficiently and reliably at all times, supporting continuous water supply within the facility.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Servicing of four Grundfos vertical water booster pumps (model CR 10-10, 1.5Kw, 400V, head 84.9).
• Visual inspection for leaks, unusual noises, motor temperature, and electrical connections.
• Inspection of bearings, gaskets, O-rings, and replacement as necessary.
• Checking motor current, winding resistance, and insulation.
• Electrical inspection of terminals, wiring, and components.
• Verification of safety and operational safeguards.
• Preparation of after-service reports.
• All work to be carried out in accordance with relevant standards and specifications, including compliance with electrical and safety regulations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• All electrical work must conform to the Department of Health Standard Specification for Electrical Equipment and Installation.
• Electrical assemblies must meet SABS 1473 Part 1, IEC 439-1, SANS 10142 standards.
• Electrical certificates of compliance, in accordance with the OHS Act, are required for all electrical work.
• Servicing procedures include detailed inspection, testing, gasket replacement, motor checks, and electrical inspections.
• All apparatus, fittings, and materials used must be new, of the latest pattern, and preferably SABS marked.
• Work must be performed by qualified and competent personnel, with supervision by a skilled representative of the contractor.
• Guarantee of the installation for 12 months against defective parts and workmanship.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Active registration with CIDB at grade 1ME or higher.
• Qualified personnel with trade test certificates in Mechanical Fitting and Electrical trades.
• Experience in servicing similar water booster pump systems, evidenced by previous project awards or completion certificates.
• Knowledge of electrical standards, safety procedures, and maintenance practices for water pumping systems.
• Ability to produce detailed inspection reports and compliance certificates post-service.
