Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a qualified Occupational Therapist to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) on employees. The evaluations aim to assess employees' fitness for work, supporting occupational health and safety requirements within the specified contract period from 01 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of occupational therapy services for conducting FCE on employees referred by the Occupational Health Clinic.
• Evaluation of a maximum of 3-4 employees during the contract period.
• Adherence to specified technical and quality standards for the evaluations.
• Submission of relevant documentation, including previous experience and qualifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the service provider include:

• Must be a qualified Occupational Therapist with proof of qualifications.
• Must be registered with the Health Professional Council, with proof of registration.
• Perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) to determine employee fitness for work.
• Adhere to the specifications outlined for FCE procedures.
• Provide references for similar projects completed within the last 2-3 years.
• Ensure evaluations are conducted in line with occupational health standards and best practices.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Professional qualification as an Occupational Therapist.
• Registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa.
• Experience in conducting Functional Capacity Evaluations.
• Ability to provide at least 3 reference letters for similar projects.
• Competence in assessing employee fitness and providing comprehensive reports.
• Good communication skills for liaising with the Occupational Health Clinic and other stakeholders.
