Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the servicing of generators and remediation at Victoria Mxenge Hospital, ensuring reliable power supply and maintenance of generator equipment.

Scope

The scope includes the provision of servicing and remediation for various generators installed at the hospital, including boiler house gensets, casualty gensets, MRI, kitchen, and other critical equipment. The work involves routine maintenance, technical inspections, safety compliance, and documentation as per specifications.

Technical Requirements

• Perform comprehensive servicing of specified generators, including inspection, cleaning, oil and filter changes, coolant refilling, and safety checks.
• Adhere to detailed technical specifications, including compliance with safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and relevant legislation.
• Provide detailed work plans, completion certificates, and safety documentation.
• Conduct health and safety risk assessments prior to commencement, including safety file submission, signage, site cordoning, and PPE compliance.
• Complete preventative maintenance schedules, including annual and operational checks, with proof of accreditation and competencies.
• Ensure proper documentation, including reports on generator condition, safety compliance, and service completion.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified artisans with trade test certificates in electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• CIDB registration with ME & EB Grade 2 or higher.
• Proven experience in generator servicing, maintenance, and remediation.
• Competency in health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and safety management.
• Ability to prepare detailed work plans, safety files, and technical reports.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as SANS, SANAS, ISO, and CIDB requirements.
• Effective communication skills for site briefing, reporting, and coordination with hospital staff and safety officers.
