Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the annual servicing of kitchen equipment at Ekukhuleni Psychiatric Hospital. The service aims to ensure that all kitchen appliances and equipment are maintained in optimal working condition, compliant with safety and quality standards, and to support the hospital’s operational efficiency.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Servicing of various kitchen equipment such as pots, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, vegetable cutters, and other related appliances.
• Inspection, cleaning, oil change, desludging, and repair of kitchen machinery.
• Replacement of faulty electrical components such as breakers, contactors, pilot lamps, and water fittings.
• Checking for leaks, electrical tightness, and water leaks, with repairs as necessary.
• Provision of comprehensive reports, certificates of service, and completion certificates post-servicing.
• Work to be carried out over a specified contract period, with the hospital remaining operational throughout.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• All servicing must adhere to the relevant South African standards, including SABS and SANS specifications.
• Equipment must be inspected, cleaned, and repaired as per manufacturer’s specifications.
• All electrical and water fittings must be checked and repaired or replaced where necessary.
• Servicing must include checking oil levels, changing oil, desludging, and repairing leaks.
• All work must be documented with detailed reports, certificates of service, and compliance certificates.
• Previous purchase orders and completion certificates related to servicing must be attached to the quotation.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Qualified technicians with expertise in electrical, plumbing, and mechanical servicing of kitchen equipment.
• Relevant CIDB registration (minimum EB/ME & SO levels) to undertake the work.
• Experience in servicing hospital or institutional kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of South African standards and safety regulations applicable to electrical and plumbing works.
• Ability to provide comprehensive reports, certificates, and documentation of completed work.
