Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the servicing of standby generators at Sundumbili Community Health Centre and associated clinics. The aim is to ensure reliable operation and maintenance of generators to support ongoing health services.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Servicing of 8 standby generators with specified capacities (e.g., 95kVA, 100kVA, 63kVA) at Sundumbili CHC and other clinics.
• Supply of all necessary materials, labour, and tools required for electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Adherence to technical specifications, safety standards, and site conditions.
• Performing routine maintenance, including oil, filters, coolant changes, and system checks as per specifications.
• Providing a guarantee period of 12 months for the serviced generators.
• Ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing health services during maintenance activities.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications mandate:

• Servicing of specific generator models (e.g., 60kVA, 95kVA, 100kVA, 63kVA) with detailed procedures for oil, filters, coolant, batteries, belts, radiators, and exhaust systems.
• Compliance with South African standards (SABS, SANS) and relevant electrical and safety regulations.
• Preparation of a safety plan, risk assessment, and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Provision of a Certificate of Compliance upon completion of electrical work.
• Routine inspection, testing, and documentation of generator performance during scheduled maintenance.
• Guarantee of 12 months on all serviced components and work.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Qualified electrical and mechanical technicians with relevant certifications (e.g., CIDB Grade, trade test certificates, diplomas in mechanical/electrical engineering).
• Experience in servicing diesel generators, preferably in health or similar critical infrastructure sectors.
• Ability to prepare safety and risk management plans compliant with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
• Proven track record of working with generator systems, including routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Capability to provide technical documentation, certificates of compliance, and detailed service reports.
• Knowledge of local employment practices, including hiring of local residents where applicable.
