Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a service provider for the servicing of sewing machines at King Dinizulu Hospital. The service aims to ensure that the sewing machines are maintained in optimal working condition, including cleaning, reassembly, setting stitch timing and tension, testing foot pedals, and providing after-service reports.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Complete disassembly and cleaning of 12 sewing machines using specified degreasers and lubricants.
• Drying and reassembling the machines.
• Adjusting stitch timing and tension.
• Testing and repairing foot pedals if necessary.
• Providing detailed after-service reports and stitch samples for each machine.
• Adherence to safety, health, and environmental standards during service.

Technical Requirements

• Strip each machine to remove PVC covers.
• Use an air compressor with blowing nozzle to dry mechanisms.
• Wash and clean mechanisms and covers with degreaser.
• Lubricate all surfaces and joints with sewing machine oil and grease.
• Reassemble machines correctly.
• Set stitch timing and tension accurately.
• Test and repair foot pedals as needed.
• Provide stitch samples for each machine.
• Test and repair foot pedals for functionality.
• Submit a comprehensive after-service report.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified technicians with experience in sewing machine maintenance and repair.
• Ability to handle disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly of sewing machines.
• Knowledge of setting stitch timing and tension.
• Competence in testing and repairing foot pedals.
• Ability to produce detailed reports and stitch samples.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including OHS and CIDB standards (specifically CAT GB1).
• Capacity to complete the work within a 7-day timeframe.
