Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of animal pound medication and sweet feed for a duration of 12 months. The aim is to ensure the municipality has access to quality veterinary medications and animal feed to support animal management and welfare operations.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of various animal medications, minerals, antiparasitic remedies, wound sprays, needles, syringes, gloves, and animal feed including bulk sweet feed, hay bales, and protein blocks. The contract covers the supply, transportation, and delivery of these items to the Umzimkhulu Local Municipality over a 12-month period, with specific specifications and quality standards outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of specified medications such as Long-acting injectable antibiotics, minerals, antiparasitic solutions, wound sprays, and other veterinary products adhering to detailed specifications.
• Provision of animal feed in bulk, including sweet feed, hay bales, and protein blocks, meeting minimum nutritional and physical standards (e.g., protein content, fiber, moisture, weight, and size).
• Delivery of items in appropriate packaging, with specified sizes (e.g., 500ml bottles, 25kg hay bales).
• Compliance with the scope of work, specifications, and quality standards as detailed in Annexure B and the Scope of Work documentation.
• Adherence to delivery timelines, with all items delivered on or before the stipulated deadlines.

Skills and Experience Requirements

• Reputable and experienced service providers with proven track records in supplying veterinary medications and animal feed.
• Capability to provide products that meet the detailed technical specifications and quality standards outlined in the tender.
• Ability to supply and deliver bulk quantities reliably and efficiently, with proper handling and transportation expertise.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, including registration on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD), and submission of relevant documentation such as CIPC registration, municipal rates clearance, and affidavits where applicable.
• Experience in managing supply chain logistics for veterinary and animal feed products within the specified region.
• Qualified personnel to handle technical enquiries and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
