Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for storm damage repairs at Elim Clinic, including the supply and installation of all necessary materials as per the provided Bill of Quantities and Drawings. The work aims to restore the clinic's infrastructure damaged by storm events, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and departmental specifications.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Supply and installation of materials required for storm damage repairs at Elim Clinic.
• Inspection and approval of all work by the Chief Works Inspector.
• Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993, as amended.
• Carrying out all work in accordance with Department of Health standards and specifications, including site clearance and cleanup daily.
• Completion within a contract period of three (3) weeks, with a lead time of one (1) week and site work of three (3) weeks.
• Provision of safety plans, compliance with health and safety regulations, and reporting requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Supply and installation of roofing materials, including profiled metal sheeting, ridge caps, polyclosers, and associated accessories.
• Removal of existing damaged roof coverings and ceilings, including pitched roofs, corrugated metal sheets, and ceilings.
• Carpentry and joinery work, including pretreated timber, roof trusses, ceiling brandering, gypsum plasterboard ceilings, cornices, and trapdoors.
• Installation of gutters, downpipes, and associated drainage components.
• Painting and finishing work on walls, ceilings, doors, and woodwork, including multiple coats of approved paints and finishes.
• Provision of scaffolding, plumbing, electrical work, and other ancillary services as specified.
• Compliance with all relevant standards, specifications, and safety regulations.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in storm damage repairs, roofing, carpentry, and related construction works.
• Competence in adhering to occupational health and safety standards and regulations.
• Capability to carry out site inspections, quality control, and compliance with technical specifications.
• Provision of qualified personnel, including site supervisors, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and safety officers.
• Ability to manage project timelines effectively to complete the work within the stipulated three-week period.
• Provision of necessary documentation such as safety plans, compliance certificates, and project reports.
