Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply high-quality submersible electric pumps and 2-way radios to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health. The aim is to ensure reliable equipment for operational needs, including maintenance and communication within the department's facilities.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of:

• High-quality submersible electric pumps, compliant with SABS standards, including accessories such as automatic watering hoses.
• Walkie talkie 2-way radios, specifically models like BF888S with UHV 400-470MHz frequency, also SABS approved.

The delivery is a once-off requirement to the specified location at Natalia Building, KwaZulu-Natal. The contract period is for a single delivery, with no ongoing service obligations specified.

Technical Requirements

• The submersible pump must be stainless steel, with a power of approximately 450W, 230V, 50Hz, and capable of pumping up to 9.0 m³/h with a maximum head of 8.0 meters, suitable for water and compliant with SABS standards.
• The walkie talkie radios must be high quality, UHV 400-470MHz, SABS approved, and supplied as a set of two units.
• All equipment must meet the specifications outlined in the attached Annexure A, including size, capacity, and quality standards.
• Suppliers must provide samples if required, and ensure all items are new, unused, and current models.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate the ability to supply equipment that conforms to technical specifications and standards (e.g., SABS approval).
• Proven experience in supplying similar equipment to government or large organizations, with references or past performance records.
• Capacity to deliver within the specified timeframe and handle logistics to the designated location.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including compliance with departmental policies and regulations, such as the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act and related regulations.
• Ability to provide after-sales support, technical assistance, and warranty services as specified in the tender documentation.
