Technical Requirements

• Product Specifications: Curved suction tube, 16.5 cm in length, 5 mm in diameter, constructed from German surgical stainless steel.
• Application: Designed exclusively for ENT surgical procedures.
• Quality Standards: Must strictly conform to the attached specification form and maintain German surgical stainless steel quality benchmarks.
• Regulatory Compliance: Bidders must possess a valid licence issued by the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) authorising the manufacture, import, export, or wholesale distribution of medical devices.
• Sample Submission: Physical samples are mandatory. Initial samples may accompany the quotation, and shortlisted bidders will be formally requested to submit additional samples via email. Completion of a compulsory sample register is required.
• Documentation: Full completion of all returnable forms is mandatory, including administrative compliance sheets, bidder disclosure (SBD4), general conditions of contract (GCC), special conditions of contract (SCC), and preference claim forms (SBD 6.1).

• SAHPRA Licence: A mandatory regulatory approval required for any entity manufacturing, importing, exporting, or wholesaling medical devices in South Africa. It ensures that supplied products meet national safety, efficacy, and quality standards before entering healthcare facilities.
• 80/20 Preference Point System: A procurement scoring model where eighty points are allocated based on competitive pricing and twenty points are awarded for specific socio-economic goals. In this tender, the twenty points are exclusively reserved for companies that are at least fifty-one percent owned by Black people. Proof must be provided via a verified BBBEE status level certificate or a sworn affidavit.
