Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver specific central venous catheter sets, including paediatric double lumen and triple lumen sets, to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital. The focus is on providing high-quality, sterile, and appropriately specified catheter sets suitable for paediatric use, ensuring safe and effective central venous access for medical procedures.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of:

• 15 units of paediatric double lumen, 4 Fr, 13 cm central venous catheter sets with specified lumens and specifications.
• 120 units of triple lumen, 7 Fr, 16 cm central venous catheter sets with specified lumens and specifications.

The delivery is to be made to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital, with quotations collected online and delivered to the hospital’s tender box or via email. The contract period is once-off, with a validity of 90 days for the quotation.

Paediatric Double Lumen Catheter Set

• Size: 4 Fr, 13 cm
• Lumens: Distal 22G, Proximal 22G
• Manufactured from polyurethane (PUR-3), latex-free
• Radio-opaque, soft, tapered, non-kinking, atraumatic tip
• Integral extension lines with colour-coded lug lock connections
• Suture wing molded for flush fit with size and length markings
• Sterile, individually packed, single-use

Triple Lumen Catheter Set

• Size: 7 Fr, 16 cm
• Lumens: Distal 16G, Medial 18G, Proximal 18G
• Manufactured from polyurethane (PUR-3), latex-free
• Radio-opaque, soft, tapered, non-kinking, atraumatic tip
• Integral extension lines with colour-coded luer lock connections
• Suture wing molded for flush fit with size and length markings
• Sterile, individually packed, single-use

All components must be sterile, CE marked, with expiry dates, lot numbers, and manufacturing details clearly indicated on packaging.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying and delivering medical central venous catheter sets to healthcare facilities.
• Knowledge of medical device specifications, sterilization standards, and compliance with South African and international standards (e.g., SANS, SABS).
• Ability to provide technical documentation, product samples for evaluation, and compliance certificates.
• Capacity to meet delivery deadlines and handle procurement documentation accurately.
• Understanding of procurement policies, preference points system, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to medical devices.
