Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver disposable coverall gowns (including various sizes) to Benedictine Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, for infection control purposes. The procurement aims to ensure the hospital is equipped with standard-compliant protective gowns to maintain safety and hygiene standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of disposable coverall gowns in multiple sizes (small, medium, large, extra-large, and extra-large) to Benedictine Hospital’s Main Stores. The gowns must meet specified standards and specifications, including features like elasticated cuffs, front zip-up closure, and compliance with Type 5/6 standards for liquid splash and particulate protection. The contract is a once-off delivery, with a validity period of 90 days from the advertisement date.

Technical Requirements

• Gowns must be disposable, with sizes ranging from small to extra-large.
• Fabric weight should range from 35 gsm (basic hygiene) to 50 gsm+ (fluid-resistant).
• Gowns must feature elasticated or knitted wrists, ankles, and gusseted hoods for a tight seal.
• Front zip-up design for easy donning and doffing.
• Compliance with Type 5/6 certification for liquid splash and hazardous particulate protection.
• Gowns must be packed per unit, with no samples required unless specified.
• All products must adhere to the detailed specifications provided in the annexure, including compliance confirmation.
