Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a supplier capable of providing and delivering crockery items, including dinner plates, mugs, glass jugs, spoons, spatulas, and other related kitchenware, to Vryheid Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to ensure the hospital's needs for quality crockery are met efficiently, adhering to specified standards and specifications, while supporting local suppliers and promoting fair procurement practices.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses:

• Supply and delivery of various crockery items such as dinner plates, mugs, glass jugs, spoons, spatulas, and other kitchen utensils.
• Items must conform to detailed specifications including size, material, quality standards (e.g., NSF certification), and compliance with relevant standards.
• Items are to be supplied on a once-off basis, with delivery to Vryheid Hospital’s designated procurement point.
• The contract period is a single, non-recurring (once-off) delivery, with a validity period of 90 days for quotations.
• Samples may be viewed from the kitchen prior to procurement, and samples must meet specified standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Items must meet the detailed specifications provided, including size, color, material, and certification standards (e.g., NSF, SABS).
• Polycarbonate plates (230mm), mugs (228ml), glass jugs (2L), stainless steel spoons, spatulas, and other utensils as specified.
• Items must be unbreakable, rust-resistant, heat-resistant, and compliant with safety and quality standards.
• All crockery must be new, unused, and of the most recent models with no defects.
• Suppliers must provide samples for approval, and products must be delivered in packaging that prevents damage during transit.
• Items must be delivered within the specified delivery period, with all documentation as per contractual requirements.

Skills and Competencies Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in supplying hospital or institutional crockery and kitchenware.
• Ability to meet detailed technical specifications and quality standards.
• Capacity to provide samples and adhere to quality assurance processes.
• Compliance with procurement policies, including preferential procurement and BBBEE requirements.
• Effective logistics and delivery capabilities to ensure timely supply to Vryheid Hospital.
• Understanding of relevant standards such as NSF, SABS, and health and safety regulations.
• Ability to provide after-sales support, if required, and ensure product durability and safety.
