Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply 263 pairs of gumboots to the Umgungundlovu District Office in KwaZulu-Natal. The aim is to ensure the availability of durable, compliant, and suitable footwear for staff involved in health-related activities, particularly for projects such as VHF/Ebola, with adherence to specified standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of gumboots across multiple health institutions within the KwaZulu-Natal Province, including hospitals and clinics listed in the delivery addresses. The procurement covers various sizes, with specific technical and quality standards, and includes the provision of samples if required. The contract is a once-off delivery, with the possibility of delivery to multiple designated health facilities.

Technical Requirements

• Constructed from virgin PVC blended with Nitrile to prevent cracking.
• Provide robust resistance against blood, fats, acids, and harsh cleaning chemicals.
• Include a smooth nylon or polyester knitted liner for quick drying and sanitizing.
• Design with a cleated sole for maximum soil and contaminant release.
• Color: White for visibility of dirt and spills.
• Lightweight to reduce wearer fatigue.
• Feature an optimal toe-spring for walking and kneeling, with memory EVA laminated or contoured insoles for arch support.
• Slip-resistant for safe navigation on wet, slippery floors.
• Provide toe protection suitable for heavy-duty use or handling heavy machinery.
