Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply high-risk gloves (specifically size XL) to various mortuaries within the KwaZulu-Natal Province Health Department. The aim is to ensure the availability of quality gloves suitable for medical and dissection purposes, complying with relevant standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of high-risk gloves (XL size) to multiple mortuaries, including Richmond Mortuary, New Hanover Mortuary, and Howick Mortuary. The procurement covers different quantities per mortuary, with the goods to meet specified standards and detailed specifications, including material, design, and compliance with SANS standards. The contract is a once-off delivery, with a validity period of 90 days for quotations.

Technical Requirements

• Gloves must be powder-free, non-sterilized, and suitable for high-risk areas.
• Material: Natural rubber latex compliant with ISO standards.
• Design features: Ambidextrous, straight fingers, textured surface on fingers, beaded cuff.
• Size: Large, with a palm width of 115+ mm and minimum length of 290 mm.
• Conformance to SANS 11193-1 standards and SANS approved quality standards.
• Supplied in boxes, with specific packaging quantities (e.g., 50 boxes per mortuary).
• Samples are required for quality verification.
• Product must meet the detailed specifications outlined in the annexure, including compliance confirmation.

Skills Requirements

• Bidder must demonstrate the capacity to supply the specified quantity within the required timeframe.
• Ability to provide samples for evaluation and ensure product compliance with technical specifications.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including submission on official forms, adherence to delivery schedules, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Understanding of the procurement policies, including the Preferential Procurement Regulations and the Department’s evaluation criteria.
• Ability to provide necessary documentation such as BBBEE certificates, tax clearance, and CSD registration.
• Competence in quality assurance, including adherence to standards and specifications, and ability to supply compliant products.
