Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver medical equipment, including infusion pumps, defibrillators, vital sign monitors, suction machines, and related accessories, to Benedictine Hospital at Mandlakazi Clinic. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of up-to-date, reliable, and compliant medical devices to enhance patient care and clinical operations.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, commissioning, and demonstration of various medical devices as specified in the tender documents. It includes providing training, manuals, optional accessories, spare parts, and maintenance support for the equipment over the specified warranty and service periods. The equipment must meet detailed technical specifications and standards, and the procurement covers multiple categories such as infusion pumps, defibrillators, vital sign monitors, and suction machines.

Technical Requirements

• Equipment Compliance: All devices must conform to the detailed specifications, standards (e.g., IEC 60601-1), and safety requirements outlined in the tender.
• Functionality: Devices must operate from both mains power and internal rechargeable batteries, with specified minimum capacities and features such as automatic charging, alarms, and safety protections.
• Features: Equipment must include specific functionalities such as ECG monitoring, SpO2 measurement, external pacing, infusion rate control, alarm systems, and data storage capabilities.
• Accessories & Optional Items: Bidders must quote for optional accessories, including giving sets, sensors, paddles, and software updates, with clear pricing and compatibility details.
• Manuals & Documentation: Complete operation, maintenance, and service manuals in English must be supplied, along with software keys and troubleshooting tools.
• Training & Support: Training for hospital technicians and ongoing technical support must be provided, including demonstration and certification.
• Quality & Standards: Equipment must be new, CE certified, compliant with IEC standards, and meet the specified safety and performance criteria.
• Maintenance & Warranty: Minimum 24-month warranty, with provisions for preventive maintenance, repairs, and spare parts availability for at least 10 years.

Skills Requirements

• Technical Expertise: Bidders must demonstrate the capability to supply, install, and commission complex medical devices, including knowledge of electrical safety standards and device-specific functionalities.
• Service & Maintenance: Proven establishment of service and repair facilities within KwaZulu-Natal, with qualified technicians trained by original equipment manufacturers (OEM).
• Training & Documentation: Ability to provide comprehensive training to hospital staff and technical support personnel, including manuals, troubleshooting guides, and software updates.
• Compliance & Certification: Ability to supply CE certification, radiation licenses, and compliance with hazardous substance regulations where applicable.
• Quality Assurance: Capacity to ensure all supplied equipment meets the specified standards and to provide ongoing support and spare parts for a minimum of 10 years.
