Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a supplier capable of supplying and delivering Mission Strips, specifically HB Meter Test Strips, to Madadeni Hospital. The goal is to ensure timely and quality delivery of these medical testing strips to meet the hospital's diagnostic needs.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of 5,000 units of HB Meter Test Strips.
• Delivery to Madadeni Hospital's Stores, within the specified contract period (once-off).
• Adherence to technical specifications outlined in the procurement documentation.
• Compliance with the procurement policies and contractual conditions set by the Department of Health KwaZulu-Natal.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the Mission Strips are as follows:

• Item: HB Meter Test Strips for Mission testing.
• Measurement range: HB 4.5 – 25.6 G/DL (45 – 256 G/L; 2.8 – 15.9 mmol/L).
• Time to results: Less than 15 seconds.
• Sample type: Capillary and venous whole blood.
• Container: Canister packaging.
• Accuracy: ± 0.4 G/DL for HB 4.5 – 10 G/DL; ± 4% for HB 10 – 25.6 G/DL.
• Sample volume: 10 HL.
• Compliance with specified quality standards and specifications as per the procurement documentation.

Skills and Competency Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven capacity to supply and deliver medical diagnostic strips in the required quantities and within the stipulated timeframe.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards specified in the tender documentation.
• Compliance with health and safety standards, including proper packaging and handling of sensitive medical supplies.
• Experience in supplying similar medical diagnostic products to healthcare facilities.
• Availability of necessary documentation such as valid company registration, SARS tax clearance, and relevant licenses (e.g., SAHPRA license).
