Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver occupational therapy consumables and related equipment to Bethesda Hospital. The aim is to support occupational therapy services by providing necessary materials such as therapeutic games, tools, and assistive devices to facilitate patient rehabilitation, cognitive, motor, sensory, social, emotional, and language development activities.

Scope

The scope includes the procurement and delivery of various occupational therapy consumables and equipment, including:

• Therapeutic games (e.g., memory games, Jenga, Umlabalaba)
• Assistive devices (e.g., finger board games, finger splints, D-Rings)
• Therapeutic tools (e.g., scissors, crayons, cones, stacking sets)
• Rehabilitation aids (e.g., hand therapy items, table top activities)
• Other occupational therapy materials as detailed in the specifications

The contract is a once-off supply and delivery, with the delivery location specified as Bethesda Hospital in Ubombo.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Supplying items that conform to specified standards, notably SABS standards.
• Items must meet detailed specifications, including size, colour, material, and functionality, as outlined in the annexed specification forms.
• All products must be new, unused, and of the latest models unless otherwise specified.
• Items such as scissors, crayons, games, and assistive devices must meet the detailed descriptions and quality standards provided.
• Suppliers must provide samples if required and ensure timely delivery in accordance with the contract period.
• All packaging must prevent damage during transit, and delivery must be accompanied by the necessary documentation.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying occupational therapy equipment and consumables to healthcare facilities.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards as per the tender documents.
• Capacity to deliver goods within the specified timeframe and in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures and compliance with relevant legislation, including the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act and related regulations.
• Capability to provide after-sales support, including warranty services and technical assistance if required.
