Objectives

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of one unit of a sterile handheld electrosurgical device with specific features, including a blade tip, three-prong international connection, and a 3-meter cable. The procurement is for Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, with the contract valid for 12 months.

Technical Requirements

• The device must be a sterile handheld electrosurgical instrument with buttons and a blade tip.
• The device should have a three-prong international connection.
• The cable length must be 3 meters.
• The device must be capable of cutting and coagulating tissue to control bleeding and divide tissue during surgery.
• The device must conform to SANAS/SABS specifications and be compliant with relevant standards.
• The device should be new, unused, and incorporate recent design and material improvements.
• The device must be supplied with appropriate packaging, manuals, and warranty coverage for 12 months.
• All supplies must meet the specifications outlined in the tender documentation and be supported by samples if required.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• The bidder must demonstrate capacity to deliver the specified device within the stipulated timeframe.
• The bidder must provide proof of compliance with all administrative, legal, and technical requirements, including valid licensing and registration with relevant authorities such as SAHPRA.
• The bidder should have experience in supplying medical devices, particularly electrosurgical equipment, and be able to provide references or evidence of previous successful deliveries.
• The bidder must complete and submit all mandatory documentation, including the Supplier Disclosure (SBD4), Preference Points Claim Form (SBD6.1), and other compliance certificates.
• The bidder should possess technical expertise to ensure the device meets all specified standards and functional requirements.
• The bidder must be registered on the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and provide valid registration documentation.
• The bidder should have personnel capable of providing technical support, installation, and after-sales service if required.
