Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver personal protective equipment (PPE) for maintenance staff at Grey’s Hospital, ensuring all items meet specified standards, sizes, and quantities. The project emphasizes providing quality, SABS/ISO-approved PPE in a single bulk delivery, with provisions for size exchanges and sample submissions to verify compliance.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of PPE items such as jackets, trousers, safety boots, socks, T-shirts, golf shirts, and hats as per attached specifications.
• Delivery of all PPE in one once-off bulk shipment.
• Provision for exchanging sizes post-delivery.
• Submission of samples for all items prior to final approval.
• All items must be SABS/ISO-approved and conform to specified sizes, materials, and quality standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for PPE include:

• Items must meet SABS/ISO standards and be approved accordingly.
• Jackets: Flame retardant, acid resistant, with adjustable cuffs, triple stitched seams, logo on the right arm.
• Trousers: Triple-stitched, flame retardant, acid resistant, with multiple pockets and tool loops.
• Safety Boots: Steel toe caps, heat resistant up to 300°C, steel midsole, high-quality full grain leather, compliant with SANS/ISO20345 standards.
• Socks: Antibacterial, reinforced heel and toe, half cushioned, elastic ankle band.
• Clothing: T-shirts, golf shirts, and jackets with specified fabrics, weights, and features such as ribbed collars and bio blast technology.
• All PPE must be delivered with samples for approval and in sizes as per attached specifications.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven capability to supply PPE items that meet national and international safety standards (SABS/ISO).
• Experience in bulk PPE procurement and delivery logistics.
• Ability to provide samples for quality verification prior to bulk delivery.
• Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including VAT registration, tax clearance, and CSD registration.
• Capacity to provide technical documentation, quality certificates, and preference claim proof (e.g., BBBEE certificates).
• Effective communication skills for coordination and technical inquiries.
