Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and deliver essential medical anaesthesia equipment to Madadeni Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal. Scope

This is a single-delivery, once-off contract covering the supply and delivery of 900 units of spinal needles with introducers. All items must be delivered directly to the hospital's central stores, with the supplier bearing all transportation and handling costs. Quotations remain valid for 90 days, and pricing must be firm and inclusive of VAT where applicable. The department reserves the right to accept or reject any submission, and late deliveries or non-compliant offers will be disqualified.

Technical Requirements

• Product Specifications: Spinal needles must be 25-gauge, 90mm (3.5 inches) in length, Quinke-type design, featuring a transparent pink colour-coded hub. Each unit must include a 21-gauge introducer needle.
• Material & Packaging: Manufactured from stainless steel and supplied in sterile packaging. Products must be brand new, unused, and retain a minimum shelf life of six months upon delivery.
• Quality & Compliance: Items must conform to relevant South African National Standards (SANS/SABS). Bidders must certify compliance, and samples may be requested for verification. Expired or second-hand goods are strictly prohibited.
• Mandatory Documentation: Complete submission of official quotation forms, General Conditions of Contract (GCC), Special Conditions of Contract (SCC), Bidder’s Disclosure (SBD4), Preference Points Claim Form (SBD 6.1), Central Supplier Database (CSD) verification, tax clearance proof, CIPC registration, and a valid BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit.
