Objectives

The tender aims to procure and supply surgical burs (specifically item 702) and surgical handpieces to meet the needs of Victoria Mxenge Hospital. The primary goal is to ensure the availability of high-quality, sterilizable, and reliable surgical instruments for various surgical procedures, including removal of wisdom teeth, drilling bones, and other surgical interventions.

Scope

The scope covers the supply and delivery of:

• Surgical burs (item 702), supplied in packs of 10, with specifications including stainless steel, autoclavable, and capable of drilling bone.
• Surgical handpieces, including various models such as straight, high-speed, and specialty handpieces, all autoclavable up to 135°C.
• Additional accessories such as burs stands, mandrels, cleaners, and K wires of various sizes for orthopedic and plastic surgery use.

The delivery is a once-off contract to Victoria Mxenge Hospital, with a specified quantity of 30 units for burs and associated instruments.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Surgical burs must be autoclavable, made of stainless steel, supplied in packs of 10, and suitable for drilling bone and surgical removal procedures.
• Surgical handpieces must be autoclavable up to 135°C, with models including straight, high-speed, and specialty types, featuring ceramic ball bearings, triple spray, and ultra push chuck systems.
• Handpieces should be compatible with various shank sizes (1:1, 1:4, 1:10, 1:16, 1:64).
• All burs and handpieces must meet ISO standards and be supplied with appropriate documentation and packaging.

Skills Requirements

• Technical expertise in manufacturing or supplying high-quality surgical instruments compliant with ISO standards.
• Experience in providing sterilizable, durable, and reliable surgical burs and handpieces suitable for clinical use.
• Capability to supply accessories such as burs stands, mandrels, and cleaners that meet technical and safety standards.
• Ability to provide technical support, documentation, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in timely delivery and proper packaging to ensure product integrity during transit and storage.
