Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver theatre uniforms, including theatre dresses, scrubs, gowns, vests, and footwear (such as theatre clogs and boots), to Nkandla Hospital. The aim is to ensure the hospital is equipped with standardized, high-quality surgical and theatre attire that meets safety, hygiene, and durability standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement of various theatre uniforms and footwear sizes (ranging from size 6 to 5XL), including:

• Theatre dresses
• Theatre clogs (sizes 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11)
• Surgical gowns (sizes 1XL to 4XL)
• V-neck doctors' vests (sizes 5XL)
• Over shoes boots (sizes X-Large)
• Cross-over dresses (size 5XL)
• Re-usable theatre boots (size X-Large)

The delivery is a once-off requirement, with a validity period of 90 days for quotations, and must comply with specified standards and specifications.

Technical Requirements

The uniforms and footwear must meet the following technical specifications:

• Manufactured from approved materials such as SABS 1401 certified fabric, 100% cotton, pre-shrunk, and fully autoclaveable (up to 273°C).
• Features include slip-resistant, lightweight, durable (15+ years), anatomical arch support, hospital-grade cleanliness, side ventilation, slight heel for fatigue reduction, massaging bumps for circulation, and unisex design.
• Seams must be double-stitched or felled for durability, with neat and secure bar-tacking on ties.
• Size tabs indicating item number and size must be sewn on each item.
• All items must conform to the relevant standards, primarily SABS 1401.
• Footwear must have specific features such as autoclaveability, slip resistance, and comfort for surgical environments.

Skills Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:

• Ability to produce and supply high-quality, standardized theatre uniforms and footwear according to detailed specifications.
• Provision of valid CIPC registration, BBBEE certificates or sworn affidavits, and CSD reports to verify credibility and compliance.
• Experience in supplying healthcare uniforms and footwear to reputable institutions.
• Capacity to deliver the required quantities within the specified timeframe.
• Provision of samples for evaluation, demonstrating compliance with technical and quality standards.
• Ability to provide technical support, documentation, and adhere to health and safety standards relevant to hospital environments.
