Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver two-piece coveralls/flight suits, specifically navy-colored, to the Umzinyathi District Office. The procurement aims to ensure the provision of high-quality, specification-compliant uniforms for forensic pathology services, with an emphasis on promoting South African owned enterprises and adhering to national standards and specifications.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, and verification of 58 sets of navy two-piece coveralls, including both jackets and trousers, for forensic pathology staff. The specifications detail the design, components, sizes, and materials required, such as embroidered designs, reflective tapes, and specific fabric compositions. The coveralls must meet detailed technical standards, including SANS 1822 and SANS 1823, and include features like detachable sleeves, reflective tapes, embroidered flags, and multiple pockets. The delivery must be made to the specified address in Dundee, with samples provided for approval prior to full delivery.

Technical Requirements

• Material: Outer fabric of 65% polyester and 35% viscose, 200g/m², with blood-repellent finish and rip-stop weave.
• Design features:
  • Jacket with front yoke, embroidered shoulder and back designs, multi-pocket configuration, reflective tape, embroidered national flag, and detachable sleeves.
  • Trousers with front fly, elastic waist, multiple pockets, reflective tape, knee reinforcement patches, and specified sizes.
• Fasteners: Touch & close fasteners, slide fasteners (synthetic spiral), and adjustment straps.
• Reflective Tape: Silver, 50mm wide, compliant with class 2 retro-reflective standards (SANS 50741).
• Embroidery: Logos, flags, and text as specified, using 100% viscose thread.
• Sizing: Multiple sizes from XS to 5XL, with specific measurements for chest, waist, seat, and inner leg.
• Additional features include reinforced elbows, knee patches, overlocked seams, and specified color consistency.

Skills Requirements

• Proficiency in manufacturing uniforms according to detailed technical specifications and standards (SANS 1822, 1823).
• Experience in embroidery and sewing of high-quality, durable garments with multiple components and detailed designs.
• Capability to produce garments with reflective materials and safety features compliant with national standards.
