Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver uniforms for various departments within Ladysmith Regional Hospital, including rehabilitation, staff, and specialized units such as audiology, physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, and wheelchair repair. The aim is to ensure staff safety, professionalism, uniformity, and compliance with specified standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement of various uniforms and related items, including:

• Polar fleece jackets with hoods
• Socks and shoes
• Golf shirts
• Scrub sets (tops and pants)
• Staff uniforms for specific departments (Audiology, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Wheelchair Repair)
• Specialized uniforms with embroidery and size specifications

The items must meet detailed specifications, including material quality, durability, safety features, and compliance with standards such as SABS or SANS.

Technical Requirements

• Conformance to detailed specifications provided in Annexure A, including material (e.g., polar fleece, cotton/polyester blends), design features (e.g., attached hood, pockets, zippers), and quality standards.
• Uniforms must be breathable, moisture-wicking, non-pilling, wrinkle-resistant, and durable.
• All items must be compliant with relevant standards (SABS/SANS) and approved by the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) where applicable.
• Samples of each item are required for evaluation prior to final award.
• Delivery must be timely, with proper packing to prevent damage during transit.
• Items must be supplied with embroidery where specified, and sizes must match staff details.
• All uniforms should be new, unused, and of the most recent models, with warranties as specified.

Skills Requirements

• Suppliers must demonstrate compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
• Ability to provide samples for evaluation and meet delivery deadlines.
• Capability to produce embroidered uniforms as per design specifications.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (SABS, SANS, SAHPRA).
• Experience in supplying healthcare uniforms and related apparel in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Administrative competence to complete all required documentation, disclosures, and preference claim forms accurately.
