Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver walking aids, including assistive devices such as crutches, walking frames, quadropods, walking sticks, and related accessories, to Ndwedwe CHC in KwaZulu-Natal.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement, supply, and delivery of specified walking aids and assistive devices as detailed in the specifications. The items are intended for patient use within the healthcare facility, with quantities and specifications outlined in the tender documents. The contract period, delivery timelines, and compliance with technical standards are also part of the scope.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of aluminium adult elbow crutches, walking frames, quadropods, wooden walking sticks, and rubber ferrules, all conforming to specified standards.
• Items must meet quality standards and be compliant with SABS or SANS specifications.
• Samples are not required for some items, but if specified, must be provided upon request.
• All products must be new, unused, and incorporate recent design and material improvements.
• Items must be packaged appropriately to prevent damage during transit.
• Delivery must be in accordance with the specified contractual terms, including documentation and insurance requirements.
• Suppliers must provide proof of compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and relevant certifications.

Skills Requirements

• Proven capacity to supply and deliver medical assistive devices reliably and within specified timeframes.
• Ability to provide technical documentation, certificates, and proof of compliance with standards.
• Experience in handling government tenders and adherence to procurement policies, including BBBEE and CSD registration.
• Capability to provide samples, if required, and to meet quality assurance processes.
• Competence in managing logistics, packaging, and insurance for medical equipment delivery.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Public Service Act, Public Finance Management Act, and procurement regulations.
