Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver WHO-approved cooler boxes and water bottles to Gamalakhe CHC, ensuring the procurement of quality items that meet specified standards for health service delivery.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of various types of cooler boxes and water bottles, including:

• Cooler boxes suitable for vaccine storage and transportation, with specified sizes and standards.
• Water bottles of specified volumes (1L, 11.6L, 20L) for health-related use.
• Delivery of these items to Gamalakhe CHC and other specified health facilities within KwaZulu-Natal.
• Compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Cooler boxes must be WHO-approved, with specific size, colour (safety blue exterior), interior features (translucent ice packs, dark liners), and capacity (small, large).
• Water bottles must be of specified volumes (1L, 11.6L, 20L) and conform to WHO/PQS standards.
• Items must meet the detailed specifications provided in the annexed forms, including size, colour, material, and quality standards.
• All products must be compliant with relevant standards such as WHO, SABS, or SANAS approvals.
• Delivery must be timely, with proper packing to prevent damage during transit.
• Suppliers must provide samples for evaluation and adhere to specified delivery timelines.

Skills Requirements

The skills and competencies required from bidders include:

• Technical expertise in manufacturing or supplying medical-grade cooling equipment and water bottles.
• Knowledge of health standards and regulatory compliance (WHO, SABS, SANAS).
