Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to procure reliable suppliers for the supply and delivery of 500ml unbranded spring bottled water on an ad-hoc basis, ensuring fair, transparent, and competitive procurement aligned with ERWAT’s policies and legislative frameworks. The process aims to obtain value for money, maintain quality and reliability of service delivery, support local economic development, and encourage participation of SMMEs and disadvantaged groups.

Scope

The scope involves the supply and delivery of 500ml unbranded spring bottled water to ERWAT’s head office on an ad-hoc basis. The water must meet specified quality standards, including mineral composition and sample testing requirements. Bidders may supply water via public/private tap-water systems or bottled water plants, with site inspections for shortlisted bidders. The process includes sample submission, site inspections, and adherence to environmental and quality standards outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of a sample pack of 24 x 500ml bottles for testing at ERWAT’s lab.
• Bottle specifications: clear plastic bottles with white/blue caps.
• Water quality must meet standards outlined in SANS 1657:2014 Edition 2.3, including mineral composition limits (e.g., calcium, magnesium, sodium, etc.) and pH range (5 to 9.7).
• Provision of a Certificate of Analysis from SANAS accredited laboratories, not older than three months.
• Site inspection of the water bottling plant or certified commitment documentation if using third-party bottling facilities.
• Delivery to ERWAT Head Office, Bapsfontein Road, Kaalfontein.

Skills Requirements

• Ability to produce or source water that complies with national standards and specifications.
• Capability to provide certified analysis and documentation verifying water quality.
• Experience in water bottling, quality monitoring, and site inspection procedures.
• Understanding of environmental standards and health & safety regulations.
• Capacity to deliver on an ad-hoc basis with reliable logistics and supply chain management.
• Proficiency in documentation, sample testing, and compliance with quality assurance processes.
