Objectives

To procure and deliver a comprehensive range of waste management bins to Catherine Booth Hospital, supporting clinical, administrative, and general facility operations while ensuring compliance with provincial health standards and public procurement regulations.

Scope

• One-off supply and delivery of specified bins to the hospital premises.
• Includes mobile/wheelie garbage waste bins (240 litres, multi-colour), round stainless steel pedal bins (10L and 20L), rectangular stainless steel pedal bins with soft-close lids, and sanitary/shabeen pedal bins (12L and 20L).
• Delivery must be completed within the timeframe specified upon award, with all transport and handling costs included in the quoted price.

Technical Requirements

• All items must be brand new, long-dated (minimum six-month validity where applicable), and fully compliant with the attached specification annexures.
• Wheelie bins must be constructed from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), feature heavy-duty rubber or solid wheels, ergonomic handles, and withstand outdoor/indoor use.
• Pedal bins must include foot-operated mechanisms, stainless steel bodies, and compatible inner buckets as detailed per size.
• Bidders must submit verifiable proof that all supplied items hold current SABS or SANS approval.
• Quotations must remain valid for 90 days, with firm pricing and explicit confirmation of specification compliance.

Skills Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate operational and financial capacity to execute a one-off supply contract without prior defaults. Essential competencies include proficiency in South African public supply chain management processes, ability to compile and submit mandatory returnable documents, and logistical capability to deliver goods to the designated hospital site within agreed timelines. Familiarity with preferential procurement scoring and transformation goals is also required.
