Objectives

• Size options: 12F, 14F x 30-50 cm; 12F, 54 cm.
• Material: Soft, pliable silicone with no metal components to ensure MRI compatibility.
• Packaging: Sterile, sealed in boxes with expiry dates and markings for insertion depth.
• Functionality: Cost-effective, efficient in suctioning endotracheal secretions, with a port for saline instillation.
• Design features: Transparent sleeve to reduce cross-contamination, color-coded markings, and a tip visible on X-ray in case of accidental cut.
• Compliance: Must be FDA approved and connect seamlessly with endotracheal tubes or tracheostomies.

Skills and Qualifications Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate:

• Experience in manufacturing or supplying medical suction devices that meet international standards.
• Compliance with South African health regulations and standards (e.g., SAHPRA licensing).
• Ability to provide products that are sterile, properly packaged, and clearly marked.
• Capability to deliver the specified quantity within the contractual period.
• Provision of technical documentation, including product datasheets, certificates of conformity, and FDA approval where applicable.
• Disclose relevant company registration details, VAT registration, and CSD registration.
• Ability to supply products that are MRI compatible and meet the specified design and safety features.
