Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of electrodes, specifically for intraoperative neuromonitoring and nerve stimulation during brain and spinal surgeries, to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal.

Scope

The scope includes the provision of various electrodes, such as SDN Slim Electrodes, monopolar stimulation probes, and corkscrew electrodes, in specified quantities (20 boxes of SDN Slim Electrodes, 10 boxes of monopolar probes, and 10 boxes of corkscrew electrodes). The delivery is a once-off contract to the hospital's designated location, with the requirement that all products meet specified standards and specifications.

Technical Requirements

• Supply of sterile, single-use electrodes suitable for intraoperative neuromonitoring and nerve stimulation.
• Electrodes must conform to specified sizes, such as a 15mm tip with 2000mm cable for SDN Slim Electrodes, 85mm tip with 195mm length for monopolar probes, and 0.6mm needle with 1500mm cord for corkscrew electrodes.
• Electrodes should be made of steel tips with plastic-covered wires, sterile, and suitable for surgical environments.
• All products must meet the relevant standards and specifications as per the attached evaluation criteria.
• Delivery must be timely, and products must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of delivery.

Skills Requirements

• Bidders must demonstrate capacity to supply and deliver medical electrodes that meet technical specifications.
• Proven experience in supplying sterile medical devices, particularly electrodes used in neurosurgery or related fields.
• Ability to provide technical documentation, certificates of conformity, and compliance with relevant health and safety standards.
• Capacity to adhere to delivery schedules and ensure product quality and sterility.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures and compliance with the Department of Health's procurement policies and regulations.
