Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver livestock and poultry production inputs and materials to various wards (7, 8, 11, 13, and 18) within the Umzimkhulu Local Municipality. The initiative aims to support small enterprises, promote local economic growth, job creation, and enhance agricultural productivity through the provision of quality inputs such as poultry feed, chicks, vaccines, and crop seeds.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and delivery of livestock and poultry inputs, including:
• Broiler starter, grower, and finisher feeds with specified nutrient compositions
• Day-old broiler chicks and 6-week-old broiler chicks
• Vaccines and disinfectants (e.g., Stress pack, Pulmodox, Gumboro, Virukill, Kitabac, Bacterfort, Orego HS, etc.)
• Feeding and drinking equipment (feeding trays, feeding tubes, drinking tubes)
• Animal bedding materials (wood shavings)
• Crop seeds (potato, maize, beans, vegetables) and fertilizers
• Transport of all inputs to designated wards
• Adherence to specified nutritional and technical requirements for poultry feeds
• Compliance with project duration of 4 months, starting immediately upon award

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Feeds must meet nutrient compositions such as:
• Broiler Starter Feed: Protein 200 g/kg, Fat 25 g/kg, Fibre 50 g/kg, Moisture 120 g/kg, Calcium 8 g/kg, Phosphorus 6 g/kg, Lysine 12 g/kg
• Broiler Grower Feed: Protein 180 g/kg, Fat 25 g/kg, Fibre 50 g/kg, Moisture 120 g/kg, Calcium 7-12 g/kg, Phosphorus 5.5 g/kg, Lysine 10 g/kg
• Broiler Finisher Feed: Nutritional values as specified in the detailed bill of quantities
• Supply of vaccines, disinfectants, and other health-related products as per bill of quantities
• Delivery of all items within 180 days, with prices valid for the same period
• Provision of transport costs included in the bid
• Compliance with all technical and safety standards for livestock and poultry inputs

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Experience in supplying livestock and poultry inputs, evidenced by relevant project references and experience forms
• Technical expertise in poultry nutrition, veterinary supplies, and crop seed supply
• Capacity to meet quality standards and nutritional specifications
• Ability to deliver within the stipulated timeframe and adhere to project specifications
• Knowledge of municipal procurement processes and compliance with SCM policies
• Provision of necessary documentation such as CSD registration, SARS PIN, and relevant certificates to qualify for evaluation
