Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver Power Take-off (PTO) shafts with a clutch, compatible with agricultural tractors and related implements, for use by the Parks Department of Breede Valley Municipality. The aim is to procure quality equipment that meets specified technical standards, ensuring safe and efficient operation in municipal landscaping and agricultural activities.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of PTO shafts with a clutch, suitable for agricultural implements such as slashers or mowers with a working width between 1.2m to 1.5m.
• Supply of equipment capable of transmitting power from tractors up to 60 HP, with specific physical and mechanical specifications (e.g., length of 1040mm, torque ratings).
• Delivery of the equipment to the Parks Office at 2 Claassen Street, Industria, Worcester, within 14 working days from receipt of an official order.
• Inclusion of all costs related to delivery, installation, and associated logistics in the bid prices.
• Provision of a minimum 12-month manufacturer warranty against defects.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the PTO shaft with clutch are as follows:

• Compatibility with agricultural tractors up to 60 HP.
• Mechanical properties and physical dimensions as detailed in the attached specifications (pages 22-23).
• Torque ratings and safety chains included.
• Model specifications must be supported by comprehensive product catalogues or specification sheets, including torque ratings.
• Minimum 12-month manufacturer warranty against defects.
• Adherence to safety standards and operational compatibility with existing municipal equipment.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in supplying agricultural PTO shafts and related equipment.
• Ability to meet the delivery timeline of within 14 working days from order receipt.
• Capability to provide technical support and documentation, including detailed specifications and warranty information.
• Compliance with all technical, safety, and quality standards specified in the tender documentation.
• Registered status on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Tax compliance, including valid tax clearance certificates.
• Ability to provide a comprehensive product catalogue/specification sheet, including torque ratings and safety features.
• Capacity to deliver quality products that meet or exceed the specifications detailed in the attached pages.
