Objectives

The primary objectives of this tender are to procure goods and services that ensure the fair, transparent, and competitive supply chain management in line with ERWAT’s policies and legislative frameworks. The goal is to obtain value for money while maintaining quality and reliability of service delivery. Additionally, the tender aims to support local economic development by encouraging participation from SMMEs and historically disadvantaged individuals.

Scope

The scope involves the supply and delivery of specific safety and protective equipment, including:

• Waders (various weights and sizes with steel toe caps)
• Gumboots (PVC/nitrile, heavy-duty with steel midsole and slip-resistant outsole)
• High-quality gloves (PVC, nitrile, nylon lycra nitrafine gloves, in wrist and elbow lengths)
• Reflector vests and jackets with reflective tape and safety features

The equipment must meet specified standards and specifications, with samples required from shortlisted bidders for evaluation.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Waders: Off-white, 700g, sizes 5-12, steel toe caps, attached to wader
• Gumboots: Contour moulded cushion insoles, SRC, acid and oil resistant, steel midsole, slip-resistant outsole, sizes 5-12
• Gloves: PVC/nitrile (wrist length, one size), EN388 compliant; Nylon Lycra Nitrafine gloves (medium, large, super-breathable, elbow length, black nitrile finish)
• Reflector vests and jackets: High-visibility, reflective tape, size L-XL, with safety and visibility features, compliant with ISO20471:2013

Samples will be evaluated, and bidders must attend scheduled evaluation sessions to submit samples immediately after notification.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required include:

• Proven experience in supplying safety and protective equipment to similar organizations
• Ability to meet technical specifications and standards (e.g., EN388, SABS 20345, ISO20471:2013)
• Capacity to provide samples for evaluation and meet delivery timelines
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and requirements
• Knowledge of procurement processes, including submission of accurate pricing and documentation
