Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to supply and deliver 50,000 liters of clean drinking water to Ngqeleni SAPS using water tankers. The service aims to ensure the provision of potable water to the specified site efficiently, reliably, and in accordance with technical standards and departmental requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and delivery of 50,000 liters of potable drinking water to Ngqeleni SAPS.
• Provision of water using water tankers with a minimum capacity of 5,000 liters, in the name of the bidder or their authorized representative.
• Delivery to facilities in towns and rural areas accessible via tarred and gravel roads.
• On-site sampling and verification before refilling tanks.
• Completion of services within 24 hours of appointment, with full delivery within 3 days.
• Liability for any accidents, damages, or delivery of contaminated water, including necessary disinfection and drainage if dirty water is delivered.
• Provision of PPE and relevant equipment for staff involved in delivery.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Water must be sourced from accredited district municipality sites or boreholes with valid certificates, yield tests, and water quality reports.
• Water delivery must be supervised in the presence of a client official, with on-site sampling before refilling tanks.
• Delivery trucks must be fitted with water pumps, water level indicators, and capacity markings visible from a distance of approximately 3 meters.
• Water must be clean, potable, and free from contamination.
• Delivery must adhere to safety standards, including PPE for staff and proper vehicle equipment.
• Invoices must be submitted with signed job cards and proof of water purchase.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must possess:

• Ownership or proof of capacity of water tankers or trucks with a minimum capacity of 5,000 liters.
• Experience in the transportation and delivery of potable water, particularly in rural and urban settings.
• Ability to source water from accredited sources and ensure water quality compliance.
• Competence in on-site sampling, sampling procedures, and water quality verification.
• Compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards, including PPE provision and vehicle safety features.
• Capacity to respond promptly within 24 hours for emergency appointments and complete delivery within 3 days.
