Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install a coughing booth at Sundumbili Community Health Centre (CHC). The project aims to provide a designated area for patients to cough safely, thereby reducing the spread of infectious agents within the healthcare environment.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply of all materials required for the coughing booth installation.
• Installation of the coughing booth on the specified site at Sundumbili CHC.
• Carrying out all necessary civil, electrical, plumbing, and structural work as per specifications.
• Ensuring the installation complies with relevant standards and safety regulations.
• Providing a guarantee period of at least 12 months for the structural work and materials.
• Completing the project within a contract period of four weeks from the date of order and site handover.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the coughing booth include:

• Supply and installation of a coughing booth measuring approximately 2.6m x 1.5m x 2.4m, lined with 40mm thick polystyrene and finished with white chromadek.
• Sealing to prevent leaks and ensure airtightness.
• Construction using durable materials compliant with SABS standards.
• Incorporation of side and roof panels, signage indicating "Coughing Booth" with arrows, and necessary framework for stability.
• Electrical installation including lighting, ventilation fans, and power supply with appropriate conduit and cabling, all compliant with safety standards.
• Plumbing components such as hand wash basins, soap dispensers, towel dispensers, mirrors, and waste bins, installed according to specifications.
• Adherence to health and safety regulations, including site safety plans and risk assessments.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

• Proven experience in the supply and installation of healthcare infrastructure, including booths and related civil, electrical, and plumbing works.
• Qualified artisans and technicians with relevant trade certificates (e.g., electrical, plumbing, masonry).
• Capability to interpret technical specifications and drawings accurately.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and compliant project delivery.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to construction and healthcare environments.
• Provision of valid certifications such as CIDB registration, B-BBEE status, and proof of previous similar projects.
