Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install disclaimer and directional signage at Gamalakhe Community Health Centre (CHC). This includes providing and fitting disclaimer boards, directional boards, and emergency assembly signage to improve safety, guidance, and communication within the facility.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply, delivery, and installation of disclaimer boards, directional signage, and emergency assembly signage as per specifications and drawings.
• Manufacture of signage using specified materials (e.g., Chromadeck sheeting, galvanized frames, treated gum poles).
• Installation of signage at designated locations including mounting onto poles and frames, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards.
• Connection, testing, and commissioning to ensure signage is functional and in good service condition.
• Adherence to site-specific requirements, safety regulations, and standard departmental procedures.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Manufacture of signage with 0.8mm Chromadeck sheeting, UV laminated vinyl print, and luminous reflective lettering (Avery or 3M grade).
• Signage dimensions: e.g., 800mm x 800mm for emergency signage.
• Mounting on galvanized frames and hot-dipped galvanized poles (e.g., 130 x 3600mm treated gum poles).
• Installation of poles with concrete footings (30 Mpa strength), excavation (300x300x600mm), and appropriate brackets and clamps.
• Signage to be water-resistant, night reflective, and compliant with SABS standards.
• All work to be carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and departmental standards, including safety and occupational health regulations.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Proven experience in manufacturing and installing signage, particularly in healthcare or similar institutional environments.
• Qualified personnel for site installation, including skilled welders, carpenters, and technicians familiar with galvanizing, framing, and electrical safety where applicable.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including Occupational Health and Safety Act 85/1993, and ability to implement safety plans.
• Capability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Ability to coordinate with site management, adhere to project timelines, and ensure quality standards are met.
