Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and install signage at GJ Crookes Hospital, including food service signage and related materials, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, installation, and commissioning of various signage items within GJ Crookes Hospital. This includes food service signage, safety signs, directional signs, and other related signage as detailed in the specifications and bill of quantities. The work involves site preparation, material provision, installation, and warranty services, with specific signage dimensions, materials, and mounting requirements outlined in the attached specifications.

Technical Requirements

• Supply and install signage as per detailed specifications, including size, color, material (e.g., pepect, frosted acrylic, PVC), and mounting methods.
• Signage must be SABS approved, durable, and resistant to environmental factors such as wind, water, and heat.
• Warranty period of 5 years and a guarantee of 12 months on installed signage.
• Signage must be securely mounted to prevent falling or damage, with materials prepared at the supplier’s site.
• All signage must conform to safety and health regulations, including wearing PPE during installation inside the kitchen area.
• Signage installation must be done within specified timeframes, avoiding peak operational hours.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in signage installation, with references of previous work.
• Technical expertise in handling signage materials such as frosted acrylic, PVC, and pepect.
• Ability to interpret specifications and produce signage that meets quality and safety standards.
• Competence in site preparation, safe installation practices, and working within hospital environments.
• Knowledge of relevant standards (SABS) and compliance with health and safety regulations.
