Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a reliable, one-off supply of certified high-risk personal protective equipment (PPE) for forensic pathology operations. The procurement aims to safeguard healthcare workers and mortuary staff during post-mortem examinations and body handling by providing compliant, durable, and safe protective gloves.

Scope

The contract encompasses the supply and direct delivery of twenty-six cartons of high-risk gloves to the KwaDukuza Mortuary. The quantity breakdown includes ten cartons of Large sizes and sixteen cartons of Extra Large sizes. Each carton contains ten boxes, with fifty gloves per box. The procurement follows a four-stage evaluation process covering administrative compliance, specification adherence, pricing with preference points, and physical sample verification. All deliveries must occur within a single transaction, and products must retain a minimum shelf life of six months upon arrival.

Technical Requirements

• Material & Design: Natural rubber latex, powder-free, non-sterile, ambidextrous shape, textured external surface, and beaded cuff.
• Colour & Sizing: Dark blue; available in Large and Extra Large (size 8–9).
• Quality & Safety Standards: Must comply with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and EN ISO 374. Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) capped at 1.0. Operating temperature range limited to 5°C–40°C.
• Packaging: Fifty pieces per box, ten boxes per carton. Complete boxed samples must accompany the quotation.
• Regulatory Compliance: Goods must hold SABS/SANS approval. Manufacturers and distributors must possess a valid licence from the national health regulatory authority.
• Delivery & Validity: One-off contract with delivery to the specified mortuary. Prices must remain firm for ninety days. Expired or second-hand goods are strictly prohibited.

However, suppliers must demonstrate competent supply chain management, including inventory tracking, logistics coordination, and regulatory compliance administration.
