Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of firearm ammunition and accessories for the Greater Kokstad Municipality's Community Safety Department. The aim is to ensure the department is adequately equipped with necessary firearm-related supplies to support community safety initiatives.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of specific firearm ammunition (e.g., 9mm rounds, 223/5.56 rounds)
• Provision of firearm accessories such as magazines, target stands, backboards, and protective gear (earmuffs, shooting glasses)
• Provision of an accredited shooting range within the municipality for shooting exercises

The scope also encompasses compliance with technical and legal requirements, including licensing and documentation, as detailed in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Supply of specified quantities of ammunition and accessories as per the schedule (e.g., 2000 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 1000 rounds of 223/5.56 ammunition)
• Provision of certified and SABS-approved protective equipment (earmuffs, shooting glasses)
• Delivery of goods within 14 days of official order receipt
• Provision of a valid firearm and ammunition trading license issued by the South African Police Service Firearms Bureau
• Submission of proof of tax compliance, municipal rates clearance, and relevant licensing documentation

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Potential bidders must demonstrate:

• Certification of a valid Licence to Trade in Firearms and Ammunition issued by SAPS
• Compliance with municipal and national tax regulations, including proof of tax clearance
• Ability to supply specified quantities and types of ammunition and accessories
• Experience or capability to provide accredited shooting ranges and safety equipment
• Provision of mandatory documents such as completed MBD forms, municipal rates clearance, and declaration of interests
