Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver general car parts to the municipality. The process aims to procure quality goods efficiently, ensuring timely delivery within specified periods, and to establish a legal contractual relationship through official orders or appointment letters.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various general car parts, including items such as catalytic converters, car polish, halogen globes, and other related components. Delivery must be completed within 14 days after official orders are issued, and all goods are to be delivered to the Municipality Stores at Vredenburg. The tender also covers compliance with waste management during any related construction or servicing activities.

Technical Requirements

• All quotations must be submitted on business letterhead and include detailed pricing per item or bill of quantities.
• Delivery charges must be included in the quoted prices.
• Items must conform to specified standards and specifications outlined in the tender documents.
• All documents and packaging must be clearly marked with the RFQ number.
• Invoices must comply with Section 20(4) of the VAT Act, including all necessary VAT details.
• Waste generated during any related activities must be properly contained and disposed of at registered facilities, with disposal certificates submitted upon project completion.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proficiency in preparing and submitting detailed quotations on business letterhead.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures and compliance with the General Conditions of Contract.
• Ability to complete and sign mandatory forms such as the Declaration of Interest (MBD 4), Preference Points Claim form (MBD 6.1), and Certificate for Independent Bid Determination (MBD 9).
• Understanding of preference points system, including B-BBEE verification and local municipality requirements.
• Capability to manage waste disposal and environmental compliance during service delivery.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with the municipality’s contact persons and security personnel.
