Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a Gynaecological (Gynae) Couch that meets specified technical and quality standards, ensuring suitability for medical use within Inanda CHC. The procurement aims to acquire a reliable, compliant, and fully functional Gynae Couch that supports clinical procedures and enhances patient care.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, testing, calibration, and commissioning of one (01) Gynaecological Couch as specified in the technical and product specifications. It includes providing comprehensive user training, demonstration, and optional accessories to ensure full operational readiness. The scope also covers post-installation support, warranty, and maintenance arrangements for the equipment's lifecycle.

Technical Requirements

• The Gynae Couch must be constructed from mild steel with epoxy coating.
• The bed height should be adjustable from approximately 550mm to 900mm.
• It must feature a two-section slide-away foot end, an adjustable backrest, and a Trendelenberg facility.
• The couch should have a standard holder for a stainless steel bowl and include Lithotomy Poles with Knee Crutches/Stirrups.
• The frame must be mounted on four heavy-duty casters (125/150mm) with a reliable brake system, preferably with central locking.
• The equipment must be compliant with relevant international standards such as IEC 60601-1 and 60601-1-2.
• All electrical components, including mains cables, should be hospital-grade, 3-meter length, and S.A.N.S. colour-coded.
• The system should be protected against electromagnetic interference and include all necessary calibration and maintenance software.
• Guarantee/Warranty: Minimum 24 months, with specified uptime guarantees and support for repairs and maintenance.
• Optional accessories should be listed with prices for Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3.

Skills Requirements

• The bidder must demonstrate technical expertise in manufacturing, servicing, and maintaining medical furniture, specifically Gynae Couches.
• The bidder must have a well-established service and repair facility within KwaZulu-Natal, with qualified technicians trained by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM).
• Technicians must be available within 24 hours for service calls, with proof of OEM training and relevant certifications.
• The bidder must provide comprehensive training to the Department's technical staff, including calibration, maintenance, and repair procedures, down to PCB level if applicable.
• The bidder should supply detailed manuals (operation, maintenance, repair) in English, and software tools for troubleshooting and calibration at no extra cost.
• Provision of spare parts for at least 10 years from the OEM, with a commitment to supply and support throughout the equipment lifecycle.
