Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver hospital linen and related textile products to Inanda CHC and other specified health facilities within KwaZulu-Natal. The focus is on procuring quality hospital linen items such as bed sheets, pillowcases, blankets, towels, tablecloths, and water-resistant pillows that meet specified standards, ensuring adequate stock for hospital operations and patient care.

Scope

The scope includes the procurement of various hospital linen items, including:

• Bed sheets (cotton, white, double size)
• Pillowcases (cotton)
• Baby blankets (cotton, standard size)
• Bath towels (cotton, standard size)
• Tablecloths (branded, embroidered, cotton)
• Water-resistant pillows
• Bed spreads (cotton)
• OCH embroidered tablecloths
• Hospital baby blankets

The procurement covers supply, delivery, and associated services such as sample submission, technical compliance, and adherence to quality standards (SABS approved). The contract is a once-off purchase with a validity period of 90 days from the date of advertisement.

Technical Requirements

• Items must conform to SABS standards and specifications provided in annexure forms.
• All linen must be made from 100% cotton, white or specified colors, and meet size and quality specifications.
• Items must be new, unused, and of the most recent models or designs.
• Samples must be submitted for evaluation before approval.
• Items must be delivered within a maximum period of 8 weeks from the award date.
• All products must be properly packed to prevent damage during transit and storage.
• Pricing must be inclusive of VAT and delivery costs.
• Suppliers must provide warranties for a period of 12 months (or as specified) against defects.
• All documentation, including compliance certificates, must be submitted with the bid.

Skills and Competencies Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying hospital textiles and linen to healthcare facilities.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards (SABS approved).
• Capacity to deliver within the stipulated timeframe (maximum 8 weeks).
• Knowledge of procurement procedures and compliance with government tender regulations.
• Capability to submit samples and documentation as per evaluation criteria.
• Financial stability to support the supply contract and provide necessary guarantees (performance security).
• Qualified personnel with expertise in logistics, quality assurance, and technical compliance.
