Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver infant warmers to Inanda CHC, KwaZulu-Natal, as specified in the technical and specification documents. The aim is to procure equipment that meets the required standards for safety, functionality, and compliance, ensuring the health and safety of infants in the healthcare facility.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, testing, calibration, and commissioning of three infant warmer units. It also includes providing training, manuals, optional accessories, spare parts, warranty, maintenance, and support services as detailed in the specifications and contractual requirements.

Technical Requirements

• The infant warmers must comply with the specifications outlined in the technical documentation, including safety standards IEC 60601-1 and 60601-1-2.
• The units should operate on 240V, 50Hz AC power supply, with features such as infra-red ceramic heating elements, adjustable brightness, protective covers, and mobility with height-adjustable stands.
• The equipment must include comprehensive manuals (user, maintenance, repair), and support software for troubleshooting and calibration.
• Guarantee/warranty period of at least 24 months, with provisions for maintenance, repairs, and spare parts availability for a specified period.
• The units must be CE certified and meet all relevant safety and performance standards.
• Optional accessories and future upgrade options should be available and clearly priced.
• The supplier must provide training for hospital staff and in-house technicians, including calibration and maintenance.
• Delivery, installation, testing, and acceptance procedures must be adhered to, with documentation supporting compliance.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying and servicing medical equipment, specifically infant warmers or similar neonatal devices.
• Qualified technical personnel trained by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repairs.
• Capability to provide comprehensive training to hospital staff and technical support staff, including operational and maintenance training.
• Availability of a local service and repair facility within KwaZulu-Natal, with qualified technicians and spare parts stock.
• Demonstrated ability to comply with safety standards, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements, including Radiation Control licensing if applicable.
