Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply materials and construct a glass partition at GJ Crookes Hospital. The project involves building a glass and aluminum framework partitioning of specified offices and areas within the hospital, including doors and related accessories, to enhance the internal layout and functionality.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of all necessary materials, including 12mm toughened glass, aluminum support frames, doors, and accessories.
• Construction of glass and aluminum partitions in designated offices opposite the boardroom, revenue supervisor’s office, and M&E area.
• Installation of doors (single and double) matching existing aluminum doors, with locking mechanisms and appropriate labeling.
• Removal of rubble and debris post-construction, ensuring no damage to existing floors and structures.
• Adherence to specified measurements, safety, and quality standards, including compliance with SABS and other relevant specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Use of 12mm clear, hammer toughened glass, mounted in aluminum U-channel strips.
• Aluminum support frames of 75x75mm, in crico or gen-x bronze color.
• Glass panels sandblasted at the front with a 50mm space.
• Doors made of matching aluminum with locking mechanisms, including bottom and top latches.
• Partitioning of two offices opposite the boardroom, including a front partition with a door, and additional partitioning at M&E areas.
• All accessories such as silicon, locks, and mounting hardware included in the quotation.
• Work to commence within the specified timeframe, with references of previous similar projects provided.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in constructing glass and aluminum partitions, supported by previous work orders and completion certificates.
• Capability to handle precise measurements and installation of toughened glass and aluminum frameworks.
• Competence in site safety, debris removal, and damage prevention during construction.
• Ability to adhere to project timelines, safety standards, and quality specifications.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as SABS and compliance with hospital safety and operational requirements.
