Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver nebulizer machines that meet specified technical standards, ensuring they are suitable for both paediatric and adult use within healthcare facilities. The procurement aims to enhance respiratory treatment capabilities by providing reliable, compliant, and easy-to-use nebulizer equipment, supported by appropriate training, maintenance, and optional accessories.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, installation, and commissioning of electro-compressor type nebulizer machines compliant with detailed technical specifications. It includes providing necessary accessories, manuals, training, and optional add-ons. The tender covers equipment suitable for use in clinics and hospitals under the Department of Health in KwaZulu-Natal, with a warranty period of at least 24 months and optional maintenance agreements.

Technical Requirements

• The nebulizer must be an electro-compressor type operating on 220-230V, 50Hz, single-phase power.
• Complete with compressor box, nebulizer bottle, and non-toxic PVC medical tubing, ready for immediate use.
• Must be maintenance-free, lightweight (not exceeding 2.5kg), and compact (max size 300mm x 220mm x 120mm).
• Must have double isolated casing, CE marking, IP30 protection class, and nebulization particles from 0.5 to 5 microns.
• Minimum nebulization pressure of 1.5 bar and conform to IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 standards.
• Supply all necessary accessories, starter packs, and disposables for immediate operation.
• Warranty of at least 24 months, with specified maintenance and service provisions.
• Equipment must be CE certified and comply with SABS standards.
• Equipment must operate safely with appropriate electrical standards and be protected against electromagnetic interference.
• Optional accessories and spare parts must be available for at least 10 years.
• Complete manuals (operation, maintenance, repair) must be supplied in English, properly bound or digital.
• Equipment must be supplied with a guarantee/warranty, including breakdown and repair support, with specified response times.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified technical personnel with manufacturer-certified training in the maintenance, calibration, and repair of nebulizer equipment.
• Service and repair facilities established within KwaZulu-Natal, capable of servicing the supplied equipment.
• Technicians must be available within 24 hours for on-site troubleshooting and repairs.
• Bidder must demonstrate capacity to provide ongoing technical support, training, and supply of spare parts for at least 10 years.
• Provision of comprehensive manuals, software, and training to Department of Health staff for effective operation and maintenance.
• Ability to supply optional accessories, upgrades, and replacement parts as per technical specifications and future requirements.
